RODI Rwanda is currently seeking three (3) dynamic Junior Facilitator Interns to join its dedicated team in Ruhango District for a 12-month internship program. About the Internship Program

The Junior Facilitators Internship Program is designed to equip young Rwandans with essential facilitation, mentoring, and leadership skills. Interns will work closely with RODI’s experienced staff and community partners to support ongoing youth education projects, particularly those involving peer educators.

The program’s main focus is to develop young facilitators who can train, guide, and mentor other youthhelping them gain practical knowledge on community engagement, social responsibility, and life skills.

This internship offers both a learning and service component, allowing participants to contribute directly to RODI’s mission while enhancing their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

The selected interns will work under the supervision of RODI Rwanda’s project officers and will actively participate in the day-to-day implementation of youth-focused programs. Their primary duties will include:

  1. Training and Mentoring Peer Educators:


Facilitate interactive training sessions for youth groups, peer educators, and community members. This includes organizing workshops and guiding participants through various learning activities that promote life skills, leadership, and responsible citizenship.

  1. Supporting Youth Initiatives:


Assist peer educators in planning and executing community-based projects. Help youth design initiatives that address local social issues such as education, health, gender equality, and environmental conservation.

  1. Community Mobilization


Work closely with local authorities, schools, and community organizations to mobilize young people to participate in RODI programs. Encourage collaboration and teamwork among youth groups.

  1. Monitoring and Reporting:


Collect and document data from field activities, write progress reports, and share success stories or challenges with the RODI team.

  1. Creating a Positive Learning Environment:


Promote inclusivity, participation, and respect during training sessions. Ensure that all youth feel empowered to express their ideas and take leadership roles in community projects.

  1. Administrative Support:


Provide logistical and administrative assistance during workshops, meetings, and field visits as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

RODI Rwanda is looking for enthusiastic and responsible young people who are eager to learn and contribute to social development. The ideal candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  1. Education:
    Applicants must have completed at least Senior Six (A’Level) or possess an A1 or Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to social sciences, education, community development, or any similar field.
  2. Age Requirement:
    Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years old at the time of application.
  3. Core Competencies:
    1. Strong interest in youth empowerment and community work
    2. Good communication and public speaking skills
    3. Ability to mentor and motivate peers
    4. Creativity and problem-solving skills
    5. Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
    6. Ability to work in a team and build positive relationships with others
    7. Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication)
  4. Language:
    Proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda is required. Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
