Hey everyone in Musanze District and nearby areas!

The Musanze District is stoked to let you know about the RISE Program (Resilience in Secondary Education). This cool education program is like a second shot for young folks who couldn't finish high school because life got in the way with social and money stuff.

The Rwandan Government wants everyone to get a good education and keep learning, so this program makes sure nobody is left out because of what happened before.

1. What's the RISE Program About?

The RISE Program (Resilience in Secondary Education) is a country-wide thing to help young people who didn't finish school. It helps them finish high school with classes that are fast and work around their lives. It's for people aged 18 to 35 who dropped out or never got to finish upper secondary school.

RISE gives you another way to get your Upper Secondary Education Certificate (A2 or something like it). With that, you can go to college, get job training, find a job, or start your own business.

This program gets that young adult have other stuff going on jobs, families, you know so it's made to fit their lives.

2. Who's Making This Happen?

 

The RISE Program is a team effort between the Rwandan Government and some awesome groups from around the world who know their stuff when it comes to education, helping young people, and making things better for communities, including:

·         Ministry of Education (MINEDUC)

·         Mastercard Foundation

·         Carnegie Mellon University (CMU)

·         UNICEF Rwanda

·         Imbuto Foundation

·         Catholic Relief Services (CRS)

·         Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA Rwanda)

·         Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT Rwanda)

Together, they make sure you get a good education, support when you need it, mentors, life skills training, and ways to get a job or keep studying.

3. Where Is This Happening?

To make sure everyone can join, the RISE Program is in a bunch of districts in Rwanda, especially in communities where people don't always get the help they need. You can find the program in these districts:

·         Musanze

·         Burera

·         Gakenke

·         Gicumbi

·         Rulindo

·         Kamonyi

·         Muhanga

·         Ruhango

·         Nyanza

If you live in Musanze District, you should totally sign up and get your education on!

4. What's the Point of the RISE Program?

The RISE Program wants to:

·         Give young people who didn't finish high school a second choice to do so.

·         Get more young people their upper secondary education certificate.

·         Teach you useful knowledge, skills, and good values.

·         Prep you for college, job training, or work.

·         Help you be responsible, strong, and involved in your community.

·         Help the country by having fewer young people out of work and left out.

5. Can I Join?

To join the RISE Program, you need to:

·         Be a Rwandan citizen.

·         Be between 18 and 35 years old.

·         Have finished primary school or have basic education.

·         Have been out of school for a while because of life stuff.

·         Really want to learn.

·         Have been out of high school for at least three years.

The program helps young people from tough backgrounds first, like those who are poor or have had to do a lot at a young age.

 

6. How Will I Learn?

The RISE Program teaches you in a way that works for adults. You'll get:

·         The main high school subjects

·         Life skills like talking to people, leading, and fixing problems

·         Skills for starting a business or getting a job

·         Training for using computers and being creative

·         Mentors and support

The classes are friendly, helpful, and flexible so you can still work or take care of your family.

7. When Can I Sign Up?

You can sign up for the RISE Program between:

·         Start date: December 22, 2025

·         End date: December 31, 2025

Go to your Sector (Umurenge) office in Musanze District or where you live to sign up.

Don't wait too long, or you might miss out!

8. What Do I Need to Bring?

When you sign up, bring:

·         A copy of your National ID

·         Your school records (if you have them)

·         A letter from your local office saying you live there

·         Recent passport photos

Make sure everything is real because if you lie, you can't join.

9. How Can Others Help?

The Musanze District wants local leaders, parents, and everyone in the community to help by:

·         Telling young people to sign up

·         Giving students advice and support

·         Talking about how important education is

Education is everyone's job, and the RISE Program will work if everyone helps out.
