Job Summary

Our client, a reputable restaurant in Kigali, is seeking a courteous and customer-focused Waiter to join their service team. The ideal candidate will welcome guests warmly, take orders accurately, coordinate with the kitchen and bar, and ensure a clean and organized dining area. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain

high standards of hygiene and service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Welcome and greet guests in a professional and friendly manner.
2. Present menus, explain menu items, and take guest orders promptly.
3. Ensure proper table setup before service and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
4. Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to deliver food and beverages efficiently.
5. Follow restaurant hygiene and safety standards at all times.
6. Support colleagues in training and teamwork to achieve smooth operations.
7. Handle customer inquiries and complaints courteously and report major issues to the supervisor.
8. Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and restaurant promotions.

Decision Level

1. Prime: Accountable for delivering quality service to guests.
2. Shared: Works with kitchen and bar staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
3. Contributory: Provides feedback to management for service improvement.

Educational Qualifications, Skills, & Experience Required

1. Minimum of A2 level education.
2. A Diploma in Hotel Operations is preferred.
3. At least 1 year of experience working in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment.
4. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
5. Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
6. Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
7. Professional appearance and punctuality.
8. Team-oriented and proactive attitude.
