Position
Overview
Wellspring
Academy is inviting applications from qualified, experienced, and passionate
educators for the position of Primary School Teacher of Social Studies
and Kinyarwanda.
The
successful candidate will join a dynamic and faith-driven team of professionals
who are dedicated to fostering academic excellence, cultural understanding, and
Christian character in our students.
This
position offers a unique opportunity to teach two core subjects that shape
students’ identity and worldview Social Studies and Kinyarwanda.
Through these subjects, the teacher will help learners appreciate Rwanda’s
heritage, culture, values, and civic responsibilities while also developing
communication and literacy skills in the national language.
Key
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be
expected to:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver
engaging lessons in Social Studies and
Kinyarwanda that align with the school curriculum, Christian worldview,
and national standards.
- Create a learner-centered
classroom environment that
encourages active participation, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Integrate Biblical principles into lessons and classroom practices, ensuring that
faith and learning are meaningfully connected.
- Assess and monitor students’
progress through regular tests,
assignments, projects, and classroom participation, providing constructive
feedback for improvement.
- Develop instructional materials
and teaching aids that
make learning interactive, relevant, and enjoyable.
- Promote Rwandan culture and
values through classroom discussions,
cultural activities, and special school events.
- Maintain accurate records of students’ performance, attendance, and behavior, in
line with school policies.
- Communicate effectively with
parents and guardians,
providing regular updates on students’ progress and behavior.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and participate in
school-wide initiatives aimed at holistic student development.
- Model Christian values of humility, integrity, compassion, and servant
leadership in all interactions with students, colleagues, and the wider
school community.
Qualifications
and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the
following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in
Education with a specialization in Social Studies, Kinyarwanda, or
related fields.
- Proven teaching experience in a recognized school, preferably in a Christian or
international education setting.
- A deep understanding of Rwandan
culture, history, and social systems to effectively teach Social
Studies and Kinyarwanda.
- Strong proficiency in spoken
and written Kinyarwanda as well as good command of English.
- A teaching license or
professional certification recognized by the Rwanda Basic Education
Board (REB) or equivalent authority.
- Demonstrated ability to
integrate modern teaching methods, including the use of ICT and
interactive learning strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal,
communication, and organizational skills.
- A personal commitment to
Christian faith and servant leadership, aligned with the vision and
mission of Wellspring Academy.
- A genuine love for children and
a passion for helping them grow spiritually, academically, and socially.
